David Homewood Alexander Valley Cab

David Homewood Alexander Valley Cab

This 1994 Cabernet sauvignon was picked from the 6-acre hillside vineyard at Garden Creek Ranch in the eastern part of Alexander Valley. Homewood contracts for the complete production of this exclusive vineyard. As indicated from the limited production, the berries are very small and the high skin-to-juice ratio yields intense flavor. After fermentation the wine remains on the skins for over a month to maximize flavor extraction and is then hand pressed in a small basket-press and aged in small French oak barrels for 18 months. Truly a handcrafted beauty.

David Homewood Chardonnay

David Homewood Chardonnay

Outstanding Chardonnay from David Homewood showing off top quality hand selected fruit with very sparing use of oak. Homewood stylizes his wines like a great Meursault and produces everything in tiny lots. A truly superb Carneros Chardonnay for those not easily impressed. 100% from the Odmann vineyards.

David Homewood Sonoma Dry Creek Zinfandel

David Homewood Sonoma Dry Creek Zinfandel

The northern Sonoma "Dry Creek" area is famous for Zinfandel fruit and David Homewood's approach to winemaking "requires" that he start with intense, flavorful grapes. This is still a very young Zinfandel, however one taste tells the tale. If you can't wait for the wine to mature, allow plenty of decadent time for the wine to open up properly.
