History of this Statue
The Venus de Milo statue was originally carved around 100 B.C. by Alexandros of Antioch. The statue was discovered buried in a niche within the ruins of an ancient city on the Aegean island of Milos in 1820. The original statue, depicting Venus the goddess of love and beauty, was complete but when it was discovered both arms and part of the base were broken. Based on the remains that were found, it is believed that her right arm was originally lowered across her torso and holding the drapery on her left knee. Her left hand held an apple which was raised in front of her. The original Venus de Milo is currently on display at the Louvre in Paris.

In Stock Statues - The marble statues we have in stock ship out within a few days of your order. We provide free shipping within the Continental United States to your home or business. Our statues are delivered in well-built crates for protection; inside delivery and crate removal are not included with the delivery. Backordered Statues - When statues are not in stock, you may preorder them by giving us a call or ordering online. When you preorder a statue, we charge you a 15% non-refundable deposit for reserving the statue. The balance would be due when the statue arrived to us and is ready to be shipped. When preordering a statue online, please select the option to pay by check when you are going through the checkout process and we will give you a call to arrange the 15% deposit. Timeless Works of Art
Each of our marble statues is carved from solid marble. Premium hunan marble is white with a soft, light gray veining. All of our statues are carved by hand, so each one will be a beautiful and unique piece of art.

For the Home and Garden
Since our statues are carved from solid marble (not cast from bonded marble or any synthetics) it is safe to use outdoors exposed in weather. The weight of the statue will vary depending on the pose, but in general on a single figure statue an average weight is: 30" Tall - 120 pounds; 40" Tall - 225 pounds; 50" tall - 375 pounds; 60" tall - 550 pounds; 70" tall - 900 pounds.
