These half columns are designed to be used either flat against a wall or to wrap around a post or beam. Since this half base is sold individually, if you need to create a full column (to cover a beam or post) order 2 of these bases for each beam. The Half Columns Help page has some very useful information on how you can turn these half columns into a full column.
