How to hang a copper
fountain:
|
|
Hang using an L Bracket:
(this way the support is less obvious)
|
 |
The solid copper wall
fountains do not come with mounting equipment. On the back of the
fountain there is a horizontal copper bar (two for the larger fountains)
that is used in mounting.
The picture to the left displays how the
fountain should be installed. To mount the fountain, take a 2x4 with a
length slightly smaller than the width of the fountain (to allow for the
sides of the fountain) and cut a 1" wide x 2" deep notch. Install
the cut 2x4 onto the wall, taking care to hit two or more studs. If
you have a larger fountain with two of the copper mounting pieces, you
will need to cut and install as described above a second 2x4. The
horizontal copper bar(s) on the back of the fountain will fit into the
notched 2x4, and your fountain will be ready to have
water added and the pump turned on.
For larger fountains (48" and wider) you will need to install a support for the fountain's base to
rest upon. To achieve this discreetly, install three L brackets (in the
center and at each end) that will sit just at the basin of the fountain.
If you prefer, you can install a shelf in place of the L brackets (see
below). |

Hang using a support shelf:
|
|

|
To hang your fountain using a support shelf instead of the L brackets,
follow the instructions above for creating and installing notched 2x4's.
For larger fountains (48" and wider), instead of installing the L brackets
described above, you can install a bracket supported shelf for the
fountain's base to rest upon. You should install the support shelf to sit
just at the fountain's base which will help support the weight of the
fountain and water. |
