Both units travel as easily as they install – the CrossTrainer 24 and ProTrainer 36 – are approximately 3-feet high by 2-feet wide and weigh 55 pounds (without batteries). Both require an open pool deck space of less than two feet square and do not need to attach to the deck or pool. The battery box stands 1-foot tall on the deck.
Battery Requirements
These units require 2 or 3 (depending on the model purchased) 12Volt Group 27 deep cycle Marine batteries, which can be purchased at most battery stores on a local basis. Prices vary, but you should expect to pay in the $125-$175 range per battery for good ones, so shop around, including the internet. Do not use car batteries, as a Deep Cycle battery is designed to provide a steady amount of current over a long period of time. Unlike a car battery, a deep cycle battery is designed to be deeply discharged (lose it's power) over and over again (something that would ruin a car battery very quickly) and then be recharged over and over again.
